About
For the network
Civic Participation Forum is a network of Bulgarian civil organizations from all over the country. We work in different spheres of public life, and in the network we are united by the idea of more participation of citizens and non-governmental organizations in the formulation of policies and in the making of important decisions by politicians and institutions.
Mission
We work for a society in which citizens are empowered to participate actively, directly and responsibly in decision-making and policy-making at the local, regional, national and European level.
Values
In our work and relationships with each other, we adhere to:
- Representativeness
- Activity and empathy
- Sustainability
- Trust and respect
- Equality and non-discrimination
A strategic goal
Empowering citizens, changing public attitudes and promoting civic participation
Specific goals
As we pursue this big strategic goal, we set ourselves smaller ones to achieve one step at a time. We strive to introduce working mechanisms for citizen participation, so that reasonable proposals from citizens and civil organizations influence policies at the local and national level. Another goal of ours is to strengthen the participation of FSU in policy formulation processes at the European and international level. We also take care of the network - to develop it sustainably, build a positive public image and increase the capacity and motivation of our members.
Members
In addition to our "outside" activities, much of our work is directed at our members - more than 100 civic organizations across the country. We "put our house in order" by maintaining contact with them, asking for their opinion, developing and defending common positions, organizing thematic working groups where our members work and give proposals on topics related to working with institutions, civic participation, influence on policies and programs, society and media.
We develop our network, organize meetings and trainings where we increase our knowledge and skills. We get to know each other, we cooperate and together we follow a common path.
