About

The main aim of the Health Emergency Situations Centre (HESC) - to participate in implementation of the strategy (policy) of the Government of Lithuania in the field of health emergency management; to create and implement national health emergencies' management system; to coordinate preparedness and activities of the institutions of the National Health System in case of emergency.

The main objectives:

to coordinate the preparedness and activities of the National Health System institutions in case of emergency;
to implement the roles and responsibilities of the National WHO International Health Regulations Focal Point and to participate in the implementation of WHO International Health Regulations (2005) in Lithuania;
to monitor and advise on poisonings;
to administer State Medical Reserve, ensure its target use in case of crisis and emergencies.
