About
Alcoa established itself in Norway in 1962 through a collaboration with Elkem ASA. Together they ran a smelter in Lista and one in Mosjøen. Today, these two plants are 100% Alcoa-owned and run on pure hydropower. The plant at Lista uses the Ny-Søderberg technology, which was developed by Alcoa, and which contributes to reduced emissions of greenhouse gases. In addition to the smelter, Alcoa also operates an anode factory in Mosjøen. The anode factory supplies the smelter in Mosjøen, as well as Alcoa Fjardaal in Iceland.
Through modern casting technology and pure electrolytic metal, Alcoa Norway supplies European rolling mills, pressing mills and foundries with quality aluminum products.
