Helfo - Norwegian Health Economics Administration

Helfo's social mission is to safeguard users' rights and provide professional service to practitioners and residents through guidance and information about the health service. Helfo must manage rights granted through, among other things Chapter 5 of the National Insurance Act (health care benefits) and contribute to good compliance.

Helfo is the Directorate of Health's external agency and manages approximately NOK 42 billion annually. This includes settlements from the national insurance to practitioners, suppliers and service providers, as well as individual reimbursement of private individuals' expenses for, among other things, medicines, dental health and health services abroad.

Helfo's goal is to
