Ensome, S.A. (environmental and social alternatives for the new millennium) is a private Nicaraguan company established by international experts. ensome is based in Nicaragua, but also works in other Central American countries, the Caribbean, Micronesia, East, West and Southern Africa (with a focus on Mozambique). Our clients include the GIZ (Rio Platano World Hertiage Site), NDF (Mozambique and Central America ore-feasibility studies), EC (ACP Fish 2 mid-term evaluation in 79 countries), World Bank-GEF (Country Portfolio Evaluations); climate change adaptation case studies by indigenous populations (Africa and Latin America - WB); Phase II Mid-term Evaluation the Coastal & Marine Conservation Program (PRCM) for W. African countries and Formulation of Phase III of PRCM for sustainable fisheries, Marine Protected Areas; and Assistance to Mozambique´s Climate Change and Environmental policies, coastal-marine protected areas, sustainable tourism and fisheries (Danida). We also work with the private energy sector (EAs, EIAs and SEA for offshore seismic studies associated with hydrocarbon and geothermal energy exploration, integrated solid waste facilities and hydro-power, as well as mitigation measures, contingency plans and monitoring systems.
