About
With the name of Hispanic Association for the Study of Gregorian Chant (AHisECGre), a musical Association of a civil nature and national scope is created, whose aims and objectives are determined in its statutes: to study and investigate Gregorian Chant, according to the semiological orientation and the fidelity to the legacy of D. Eugène Cardine and disseminate and promote the results of this research.
It is registered with the Ministry of the Interior on July 13, 2001. Its first Ordinary General Assembly was held on September 1 of the same year. Among its associates are great scholars and researchers of the Gregorian Chant who in recent years have worked to carry out this project that was launched with great enthusiasm and great expectations.
The Hispanic Association for the Study of Gregorian Chant is an active member, as a legal entity, of the International Association for the Study of Gregorian Chant (AISGre) since June 2002.
It periodically publishes the Association's newsletter, whose objective is to keep members informed of the activities of our Association, as well as of the International Association. In addition, it reports on everything related to Gregorian chant in Spain and on the news that it generates.
Since 2003, he has organized Gregorian Chant Encounters and concerts in different cities in Spain. Also, since 2002, she collaborates with the abbey of Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caídos in the organization of the Week of Gregorian Studies that is celebrated every year, the last week of the month of August.
