Essential oils have powerful healing and disinfectant effects. Peppermint International based in Leposavićq is the only large-scale essential oils producer in Kosovo, and one of the very few in Southeastern Europe. Market demand is increasing, which means the company has capacity to increase the number of employees. To support the company’s growth, USAID through EMPOWER Private Sector signed on March 14, a grant agreement for the company tol acquire a cooling chamber and vacuum drying chamber, both of which are needed for processing herbs. Some 17 new workers will be needed for the expanded operations.
