Direction des Services Vétérinaires (DSV)

The Directorate of Veterinary Services is responsible for :

-        coordinate all public and private activities aimed at improving animal health, animal welfare, food hygiene, the quality and health safety of animal foodstuffs of animal origin and fisheries;

-        coordinate prophylactic actions against livestock diseases and epizootics;

-        instruct zoosanitary approvals;

-        to ensure the application of the animal health policy;

-        ensure zoosanitary regulations and information;

-        coordinate regulatory and quality control actions and marketing authorization for products for veterinary use;

-        supervising the control of professions relating to animal foodstuffs and foodstuffs of animal origin;

-        to regulate the veterinary profession;

-        ensure technical liaison with international animal health and veterinary public health organizations;
