About
Yakaboo Publishing is a Ukrainian independent publishing house founded in 2016 by the online bookstore Yakaboo.ua and the publisher Oksana Forostyna. We want to unite and expand a community for which critical thinking and information analysis are important, so they choose a quality in-depth product.
We have chosen three priority areas of work:
- Ukrainian niche non-fiction
We are working, in particular, on the creation of a series of books "Optimistically about health" by Darka Ozernaya; on information hygiene projects with Oksana Moroz ("Vegetable Nation", "Fight for Truth"); on books on financial literacy together with Lyubomir Ostapiv ("Love and the budget", "Baby and the budget").
- visual emotional non-fiction
We translate world bestsellers into Ukrainian on trending topics (self-development, running, sports, hobbies, cooking). We are developing a series of lifestyle books ("What I Talk About When I Talk About Running" by Haruki Murakami, "What I Dream About When I Ride a Bike" by Robert Penn, "What We Talk About When We Talk About Books" by Lee Price).
- experimental projects
Here we are talking about new original editions of current topics, unusual formats, with an interesting visual solution, with a bold design of the cover and layout. We strive to create a product adapted to the habits of the target audience, to give it a non-standard form, thus achieving an unexpected effect and pleasantly surprising numerous readers and ourselves.
We recently published the first children's book about running in Ukraine and the first children's book for our publishing house - Olesya Kesheli-Isak's "The Restless One Who Loved to Run" - and we continue to work on creating children's non-fiction.
The publishing portfolio of Yakaboo Publishing includes books by such well-known authors as: Haruki Murakami, Slavenka Drakulich, Yaroslav Hrytsak, Peter Pomerantsev, David Patrikarakos, Vasyl Makhn, Oksana Moroz, Darka Ozernaya and many others.
A significant part of the publishing house's work is partner publications with branding, joint promotion, and involvement of opinion leaders in the respective industries.
Yakaboo Publishing also develops alternative products to paper books — ebooks and audiobooks.
