The Festival d'Avignon is a non-profit association governed by the 1901 law, subsidized by the State (Ministry of Culture), the City of Avignon , the Community of Greater Avignon , the Department of Vaucluse , the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region .

As of April 20, 2020, its Board of Directors is composed as follows: President Françoise Nyssen; vice-president Cécile Helle, mayor of Avignon; secretary Christiane Bourbonnaud, former deputy director of the Festival d'Avignon and the ISTS; treasurer Claude Morel, Deputy Vice-President for performing arts for Greater Avignon Urban Community;
