A.S.D. Scuola Di Ciclismo Franco Ballerini

Founded in the late nineties in the San Paolo district of Bari as a youth cycling club, the "Franco Ballerini" has over time become one of the first introductory cycling schools in all of Italy. At "Franco Ballerini" the bicycle is much more than a sport. It is a metaphor for social integration and equality, as well as being a challenge: to bring beauty and solidarity to the suburbs.

The creation of the #Nessunoescluso Bike Park is an initiative born as part of the Bike Academy project financed by the Urbis project of the Municipality of Bari. It is a circuit on which children aged 6 to 15 can try their hand at one kilometer of cross country for Mtb, six hundred meters of asphalt, where children can practice road safety education, a Pump Track, a wooden track with Bmx, a bridge and a skill park, for acrobatics and greater skills.

"Franco Ballerini" has always carried out projects whose purpose is the organisation, protection and promotion of cycling in all its competitive, recreational and educational forms. The aim is to make this sport increasingly inclusive and accessible to young people with various forms of autism and hyperactivity, thanks to the help of tricycles and Hug Bikes, "the bikes of hugs", tandem bikes that allow you to pedal, accompanied , even to children with forms of severe intellectual disability.
