Hamok

Hamok (or Higher Ambitions With Orienting Ability), is a club that originated in Ham. This does not mean that all members live in Ham, in fact, because the club has members everywhere, the name has been changed from Ham OK to Hamok, so that the old name with its reputation is preserved and yet it is made clear that we come from all over .

Our club was founded in December 1984. Tuur Cloostermans, sports devil-does-al, took care of both athletes from Looise athletics association and orienteers affiliated with Omega, a club that together with KOL (1977) and its spin-off OCL (Orientation Club Limburg) formed the Regional Federation for Orientation Sports (RFOS). Tuur Cloostermans pushed athletics aside for a while, asked and received with great benevolence Omega's blessing for a separation and founded together with son Luc (chairman), Vic Vanderstraeten (vice-chairman), Luis Bertels (honorary chairman), Roza Mariën (treasurer) and a 20 O-adepts Ham OK In 1985 Trol (Slow and fast orienteers) also saw the light of day, KOL swallowed its spin-off again.
