About
Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS)
It is a non-governmental organization from the Republic of Moldova, founded in 2017 by a group of professionals with extensive experience in managing public affairs.
Today, IPIS brings together people with diverse geopolitical views, which sets it apart from other organizations and is an advantage.
IPIS OBJECTIVES
The purpose of our activity is to find non-politicized, compromise solutions for the key aspects of the long-term development of the Republic of Moldova.
We carry out projects with the participation of the best local and regional experts.
IPIS expertise covers four areas:
- Public administration and effective governance;
- Resolving conflicts and strengthening inter-ethnic relations;
- Inclusive society and civic participation;
- Strategic communication and media;
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Public administration reform, efficient governance, decentralization
The public administration system in Moldova is politicized, opaque and has a limited capacity to provide quality services for citizens. The deterioration of the economic and social indicators of the Republic of Moldova is largely related to the inefficiency of the public system.
The Institute develops policies and programs aimed at creating a transparent, accountable and efficient public administration sector that is able to respond to the needs of citizens and the business environment.
Resolving conflicts and strengthening inter-ethnic relations
The problem of the integration of ethnic communities in the political, economic and social life of the country is a current issue for Moldova. The institute implements programs of interethnic cooperation and mutual integration of ethnic communities, which allow solving practical problems: learning the state language, participation of members of ethnic communities in the management of public affairs, as well as better mutual knowledge of the communities living here.
Also, the institute implements independent projects or in collaboration with international organizations, which aim to create the conditions for a sustainable solution to the Transnistrian conflict.
Inclusive society and civic participation
Government institutions in the Republic of Moldova enjoy very little trust from the people. Public policies are developed without citizen participation and public involvement, although modern management systems provide effective mechanisms for citizen involvement in the decision-making process.
The institute develops and implements innovative projects that
- promotes the principles of joint management of public affairs and citizen participation in the decision-making process;
- gives citizens the opportunity to monitor and influence government activity;
- supports the involvement of citizens' associations at the local and central level in the development and implementation of public policies;
Strategic communication and media
The information space of the Republic of Moldova was divided between the political forces, being used most of the time in the interest of the party. Independent media sources have become a rarity in Moldova, which negatively affects the quality of available information and public debates.
To overcome this situation, we produce competitive media content and place it on information platforms in Moldova. By creating quality products, IPIS aims to contribute to the fight against internal and external propaganda and to offer media consumers an alternative to existing products.
We also believe that the lack of communication channels with the state regarding important reforms and decisions that affect the lives of citizens is unacceptable, and that public institutions are obliged to communicate to people the intentions and results of their work. Experts in the field of strategic communication within IPIS provide support in the creation and proper functioning of communication departments in public institutions, and train civil servants to introduce communication tools and connection with the citizen in public policy documents.
