About
Established in 1998, Environmental Power International Ltd (EPi) is a UK-based renewable energy company. With our proof of concept first demonstrated in 1999, our unique, patented, Pure Pyrolysis technology converts all manner of organic materials into alternative fuels and energy.
The EPi technology offers sustainable, environmental solutions to many of the challenges facing today's world in respect of Energy, Waste and Carbon Capture.
Our technology transforms all manner of organic materials at a molecular level, quietly and without odour or emissions, to produce an energy rich gas and heat whilst capturing solid carbon.
Unlike almost every other waste treatment process there is no combustion phase. The entire process is natural chemistry and it only works if we do not burn.
The EPi technology has many advantages over alternative approaches... It is small scale, modular and capable of processing almost any type of solid material other than metals, minerals or glass. However, we love plastic in almost all its forms.
We are currently in manufacture of our 7th generation plant, which we aim to have operational no later than the first quarter of next year (i.e Spring 2024)
The technology offers a variety of outputs dependent upon local needs. In combination with advanced complimentary technologies, we can produce a range of sustainable renewable liquid fuels, including diesel and aviation fuel.
Hydrogen is also high on our agenda, having recently been selected by UK Government as one of the technologies to assist the UK, as it strives to accelerate the delivery of Renewable Hydrogen as a mainstream fuel into the UK economy.
