Kids & Welcome eV

Kids Welcome is an amalgamation of various projects related to the care of refugee children

Started as a playground association for the green oasis between BArtelsstrasse and SCHUlterblatt (then still BaSchu eV!), Kids & Welcome eV has placed itself behind the Refugees Welome Karoviertel initiative with the start of the accommodation of 1200 refugees in the exhibition halls in the Karoviertel as club infrastructure. We collected and distributed both material and monetary donations for refugee projects, set up a children's program and continued to look after the playground in the Schanzenviertel. In the meantime, we have set up several children's programs in refugee accommodation with the Kids Welcome project, employ refugees as federal volunteers and cultural mediators and run projects relating to encounters between refugees and locals. Since 2018 we have been called Kids & Welcome eV (formerly BaSchu eV)
