ACT Blade

ACT Blade Ltd was founded in November 2015 following the completion of a feasibility study conducted in collaboration with DNV-GL and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. This study demonstrated the ACT Blade is not only technically viable, but it can also offer significant LCOE savings. The founders (in the picture) are Dr Sabrina Malpede (Managing Director), Dr Alessandro Rosiello (Finance and Non-Executive Director) and Dr Donald MacVicar (Technical Director). Together, they have fourteen years’ experience in developing and commercialising innovative high-tech design solutions. The team’s first successful venture, SMAR Azure Ltd, is the market leader in tailored computerized design and analytical software for the marine industry. Their products are used by over 200 users, including two certification agencies (Lloyd’s Register and RINA) in 30 countries. The R&D team comprises specialists in aerodynamics, structures mechanical and composite engineering.
