KOICA - Korea International Cooperation Agency

Since opening its door in 2011, Rwanda office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been contributing to the development of Rwanda. As one of priority partner countries of the Republic of Korea, Rwanda and Korea is maintaining close ties in development cooperation and Korea’s assistance to Rwanda is continuously growing. According to Korea’s Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and KOICA's Country Plan (CP), which was developed in alignment with Rwanda’s national vision, Rwanda office specifically targets education, agriculture, and ICT as key areas of assistance. KOICA delivers its assistance mainly though development projects, capacity development, multilateral cooperation and international volunteering (World Friends Korea) with particular focus on vocational training, agricultural development, ICT and innovation capacity building and governance, etc. KOICA Rwanda is staffed with a total of 20 employees, 8 Korean including one Country Director and two Deputy Country Directors and 12 Rwandese staffers. KOICA is committed to working with public as well as private sector partners in Rwanda to support and promote the national development of the country.
