Platform for Dialogue and Peace - P4DP Member

P4DP is involved in research and participatory action activities aimed at strengthening the capacities of state and non-state actors to prevent, manage and transform conflict through collaborative action. Through this approach, P4DP endeavours to see a Liberian society characterized by equality, social cohesion and respect for all. P4DP has worked in all fifteen political sub-divisions of Liberia.

P4DP’s ToC is rooted in PAR and posits that the ideas and solutions to the challenges faced by post-conflict societies, Liberia being no exception, need to be developed and owned by the societies themselves in order to bring effective remedies. The methodology facilitates the development of inclusive solutions and creates a culture of dialogue that helps to improve the relations among –sometimes antagonistic – groups through repeated meetings, joint analysis of challenges and design of solutions. The approach is also based on the assumption that such a process equips participants with listening and dialogue skills that will contribute to the peaceful management of conflicts and will bring about peace and sustainable development.
