The Scientific Society for Social Cohesion and Development (EPEKSA), is a politically independent center for scientific research and reflection (Think Tank) that has the form of an urban, non-governmental non-profit organization. The purpose of the Society is to promote the principles of social justice, solidarity and equality through scientific research, socially oriented consulting and public debate.

The fields of research and intervention of EPEKSA concern social policy and social development, social inequalities and poverty, public employment, social integration, health care and social security policies, family policies , the child and gender, social and sustainable development, the environment, education and training, immigration, corporate social responsibility, youth, culture, sustainable cities.

The Company actively supports the promotion of the social economy and social entrepreneurship as well as the strengthening of local social development as privileged areas for the inclusion and activation of vulnerable groups in social and economic development and the fight against social exclusion.
