Intersecta - Organización para la Igualdad, A.C.

Intersecta is a feminist organization that works to eliminate discrimination in Mexico. Since our foundation in 2018, we have dedicated ourselves to producing knowledge that allows us to identify and understand discrimination and human rights violations from a feminist perspective, as well as the evaluation of state policies supposedly designed to eradicate discrimination. We promote non-punitive public policy solutions to the problem of discrimination, based on human rights and evidence and that take into account the different realities, needs and desires of people.

We understand discrimination as a systemic phenomenon that prevents the effective exercise of people's rights. Although this is often manifested explicitly –with the support and shelter of powerful narratives of exclusion–, we know that it is also silently reproduced through existing institutions, policies and practices in society, which were designed to guarantee the rights of only a few people. Our work seeks to help identify these exclusion mechanisms so that we can change them.
