Heifer Ecuador

Heifer Ecuador Foundation is an Ecuadorian Non-Governmental Organization for rural development, non-profit, linked to Heifer International. In Ecuador, Heifer International has had a presence since 1954 and since 1993 it has been present as the Heifer Ecuador Foundation.

Heifer Ecuador takes care of the Earth and that is why it works with an approach that combines a development proposal for populations in poverty, with the sustainable management of ecosystems and natural resources.

We also promote agro-ecology as the proposal to enhance the peasant productive process, taking care of health and the environment, under the framework of food sovereignty, guaranteeing cultural practices and the identity of the areas and the country.

We help families improve their income by incorporating added value to their production and by promoting local and autonomous peasant marketing circuits that promote access to healthy food.
