About
We are the umbrella association of chemical employers in Germany. We represent the collective bargaining and social policy interests of our ten independent regional member associations with 1,700 member companies and 585,000 employees. We ensure that chemical employers approach trade unions, politicians and the public in a uniform manner. With the chemical-pharmaceutical industry, the BAVC not only represents the third largest industrial sector in our country, but also large parts of the rubber industry and the plastics processing industry as well as the service providers associated with our sectors.
We conclude collective agreements with direct effect for the member companies of the chemical employers' associations. Chemical employers exercise their constitutional freedom of association through the BAVC. We shape the working and economic conditions in our industry independently and in a social partnership based on the constitutionally guaranteed collective bargaining autonomy. With unity, solidarity and innovative strength, we develop answers to current challenges and solutions for the working world of tomorrow.
