About
Gayaza Kyankwanzi Women Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited is a community based secondary cooperative working with farmers at the grass root to improve their standards of living through empowering women in agriculture, employing modern farming methods.The cooperative started operating as a small Village Savings and Loans Association(VSLA) of 30 Women in 2015. In 2018 members of the group agreed to join efforts with other groups to form an umbrella organization with 180 women farmers hence the name Gayaza Kyankwanzi Women Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited.
With support from Action for Rural Women Empowerment (ARUWE), Gayaza Kyankwanzi Women Farmers’ Cooperative Society was registered as a Cooperative Society on Probation with Certificate of Registration # P.9527/RCS in March 27, 2019 with over 200 membersfrom the registrar of cooperatives societies.
Currently, GKWFC has membership of 18 Primary cooperatives all serving total individual membership of 417 members: 395female and 22male. GKWFC is located in Kyanga Village, Gayaza Parish of Gayaza Sub County, Kyankwanzi District and provides a range of services to its members including Agro-input supply, collective bulking and marketing of members’ produce, Business Development Support services and market linkages to smallholder farmers.

The organization’s overall objective is to facilitate household income generation of the organization’s members through skills development, postharvest handling, bulking, value addition, and joint marketing.
