Touch Roots Africa

As an organisation our goal is to see that Lesotho children and young people are supported, cared for and protected by adults with relevant skills. In order to achieve this we have developed (or are developing), a range of key organisational initiatives linked to our training and consultancy programme.

We are guided by our values that every child matters, regardless of their gender, ability, sexuality,culture or religion.
The way we do this is to partner with, and train organisations, to deliver our niche programs so that children and their families can make positive choices about their lives, and become future community leaders.
Women’s and girls’ empowerment - hand-in-hand with local councils, cbos, cofs and women’s organisations our programs have prioritised prevention and education as keys to addressing the ongoing challenges of hiv/aids. Our ‘coaching boys into men’ (cbim) strategy targets youth through sport to fill in gaps in knowledge relating to prevention of hiv/aids, gender-based violence (gbv), health relationships, and gender equity.
Separately women and girls are empowered by pss programs to understand their rights, and are assisted to participate equally in society through education, accessing health services and job training.
