Missions
The Commission for Access to Information of Public Interest and Public Documents, abbreviated CAIDP, is an Independent Administrative Authority, responsible for ensuring compliance and application of the provisions of this law.

As such, it is responsible in particular for:

- to ensure respect by public bodies for the right of individuals to access, without discrimination, information and documents of public interest;

- to receive and examine appeals filed against the decisions of public bodies regarding access to information of public interest;

- to ensure compliance by public bodies with the obligation to disseminate information of public interest that they hold;

- to ensure compliance by public bodies with the regulatory cost of reproducing documents of public interest;

- to ensure the conservation and management of their data by public bodies, so as to promote the exercise of the right of individuals to access information of public interest;

- to ensure compliance by public bodies with the obligation to designate, within them, an information manager and to receive a copy of the delegations of attribution if applicable;

- to develop and implement the CAIDP strategy for promoting the right of individuals to access information and documents of public interest;

- to monitor the implementation of policies promoting the right of access to information of public interest;

- to disseminate and popularize texts relating to the right of access to information of public interest;

- to ask public bodies to produce an annual report on the application of the law, in the first quarter of each year, with an indication of the number of requests and the action taken on them;

- to assess the effectiveness of people's right to access information of public interest in public bodies.
