The main mission of the ÚVN is the provision of health care in all its components. This care includes prevention, diagnosis, nursing care, midwifery, dispensary, diagnosis followed by appropriate therapy, supplemented by biomedical research, clinical trials and education of health professionals.

The hospital provides comprehensive health care in all medical fields to professional soldiers in the civil service, military veterans, employees of the Department of Defense and recipients of long-service pensions.

The hospital's vision is to consolidate it in the network of health care providers throughout Slovakia and to meet the demands of patients, clients and employees to the maximum.
