Sanitary and Phytosaniary Notification Authority and Enquiry Point (Vietnam SPS)

The National Notification and Inquiry Point of Vietnam Animal and Plant Health and Quarantine (SPS Vietnam) Office was officially established under Decision  99/2005 / QD-TTg  dated 9 May 2005 by the Prime Minister.

The English name is: Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Inquiry Point.

SPS Vietnam is the focal point for the transparency obligations required by the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) (WTO), functioning as the official information channel between Vietnam and WTO members on SPS issues.

The Office has the task of informing and answering the contents and regulations on food hygiene and safety and animal and plant quarantine; Requesting WTO member countries to provide information on measures, procedures for risk assessment, inspection, inspection and other matters related to food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary .

SPS Office Vietnam is a unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), based in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has its own legal status, has its own seal, can open accounts. at banks and state treasuries according to the provisions of law.
