Association Sénégalaise pour le Bien-Etre Familial (ASBEF)

Established in Dakar for more than 50 years, the Senegalese Association for Family Welfare (Asbef) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) for the protection and improvement of maternal and child health in the most disadvantaged environments. Thanks to its financial backer Ippf based in London, Asbef supports the government in all public health programs. Unfortunately for the past year, this structure has been facing a serious crisis of authority which has resulted in unfair dismissals and financial embezzlement to the point of pushing English donors to freeze all funds estimated at nearly 2 billion CFA/year. This, to the great misfortune of destitute patients. Faced with the seriousness of the crisis, many are of the opinion that only the President of the Republic can save this private structure, certainly, but of general interest, even if it means putting it under provisional administration.
