About
Growing mobility needs and the use of new technologies, such as unmanned aircraft systems (UAS, drones), pose major challenges for aviation. Safe air traffic is also economically and socially important for Germany and Europe. The European Aviation Security Center e. V. (EASC e. V.) initiates, researches, moderates and evaluates important research and development activities for sustainable aviation security in European and international air traffic, independent of the manufacturer.
The non-profit association EASC e. V. was founded in May 2008 and works with companies, research institutes, universities and authorities with the aim of
› to initiate and moderate research and development projects (R&D projects) on safe air traffic and to evaluate the opportunities and risks of new procedures,
› To develop and design training concepts for security forces ,
› to provide a neutral communication platform for all those involved in the aviation security industry and
› to establish a research and validation centre specialising in aviation security at Schönhagen Airport (near Berlin).
This will enable the partners involved to jointly position themselves more strongly in the European environment and participate in innovative civil security research.
