AJDC.asbl is a non-profit, non-denominational and apolitical association, created in 2008 by young people from the locality of Kahuna, in the province of South Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Its mission is to contribute to the community development of the population through the implementation of community projects in the areas of health, education, environment, agriculture, livestock breeding and the advancement of women. , childhood and emergency. It also aims to promote and protect human rights, in particular those of women, children and vulnerable groups, victims of armed conflicts and sexual violence 2 . Since its creation, AJDC.asbl has implemented several activities with the financial, technical and institutional support of various national and international partners, such as Monusco, Première Urgence-Aide Médicale Internationale, Oxfam GB, Mamas For Africa, GIZ/ASCU, RET International, Pax Christi International, AAP/World Bank, Child Soldiers International, WWF, SOH, PIN/Fonds Commun Humanitaire RDC, NCA/Fonds Commun Humanitaire RDC, AVREO-UNICEF, Kailash Foundation, Aflatoun International, etc. AJDC.asbl is a member of several humanitarian coordination networks and mechanisms at the local, provincial and national level. It has a head office in Uvira and several branches in the territories of Uvira, Fizi and Mwenga. It currently has more than 50 active members, including qualified professionals in various fields, as well as volunteers committed to the social well-being of communities. AJDC.asbl dreams of responsible youth involved in the peace process and community development in a space where communities live in perfect social cohesion.
