The IST-T was created in 1989 and restructured successively in 1992, 2001 and most recently in 2017. Although it initially prepared students for the higher technician diploma, it is currently responsible for also training Master's level engineers and specialized higher technicians of Bachelor's level in order to give them mastery of techniques and technologies, in order to make them directly operational in the professional world.
