About

Yayasan IDRAP (IDRAP Foundation) is a civil society organization that works to realize the basic rights of rural communities to development. This is considered very important to place the community in a harmonious and peaceful life and perevent them from potential social conflicts.

IDRAP was initially established in 1999, which was inspired by concerns over the condition of the people in North Buton who are in abundance of natural resources but live in poverty, isolation and backwardness. After several years of being active as a voluntary group, a substantial change occurred on 24 October 2003 when IDRAP was officially registered as a non-profit and non-governmental organization. Certificate of registration from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia was released on April 9, 2010 under registration number AHU-1644.AH.01.04.Tahun 2010

The general objective of establishing IDRAP is to contribute directly or indirectly to the development of indigenous peoples and rural communities in Southeast Sulawesi Province in eastern part of Indonesia to gain access to fair development through education, advocacy and outreach programs. Developing community capacity in terms of democracy and basic rights of citizens, improving health quality, increasing income, and preserving the environment were IDRAP's 4 main mandates when it was established with a charitable approach.
