Orasul Costesti (Primaria Costesti)

It is a city in Argeș County, Muntenia, Romania, consisting of the component locality Costești (the residence), and the villages of Broșteni, Laceni, Pârvu Roșu, Podu Broșteni, Smei and Stârci. The city has a population of 10,375 inhabitants. The administrative status of the locality is that of a small town, which includes the neighborhoods of Telești and Zorile and the 6 villages belonging to Broșteni, Lăceni, Pârvu Roșu, Podu Broșteni, Smei and Stârci, being a founding member of the Romanian Towns Association.

The city is located in the south of the county, in the Pitesti Plain, on the banks of the Teleorman River. The administrative unit has a total area of 91.31 km². It is crossed by the DN 65A national road that connects Pitesti with Roșiorii de Vede. At Costești, the county road DJ 659A branches off from this road, which leads north to Bradu. Also in Costești, DN 65A also intersects with the county road DJ 703B, which leads west to Lunca Corbului and east to Suseni. The city is also a railway junction on the Pitesti-Piatra Olt railway, on which it is served by Pârvu Roșu, Suseni and Costești stations, from where a line branches to Roșiori Nord.
