Our 110 Czech staff work in transport planning, highways, geotechnics, water, environment, tunnels and foundations. With a strong track record over 20 years, we provide a wide range of advisory, engineering and management services.
Our internationally-respected tunnelling expertise using the sequential excavation method has been deployed on an extension of Prague’s metro system and on the Blanka highway tunnel.
 
Transport
Every city has its landmark and in Prague, we helped develop plans to restore and maintain one of the region’s important ancient monuments, the Charles Bridge. Meanwhile, working with Koucky Architects we prepared the preliminary, tender and detailed design for a new bridge over the Vltava river in Prague, the Troja Bridge.

We've also been contributing to many projects involving the reconstruction and development of highway infrastructure. Our role involved advising Czech ministries and working for the Road and Motorway Directorate to supervise construction of the country’s first ISPA-funded highway project, involving a new section of the R48 Belotin – Cesky Tesin Expressway in North Moravia-Silesia.

Water and environment
Key examples of our roles include preparing projects for infrastructure in water and waste management, climate change and renewable energy usage. Our environmental experts have also been actively assessing the impact of buildings on the environment, audits, planning, brownfields revitalisation, use of natural resources and ecosystems to protect biodiversity, and the implementation of the NATURA 2000 network.

Mott MacDonald assisted the Ministry for Regional Development in developing and improving sewerage drainage systems in Brno in accordance with EU standards. We have also advised the government on flood risk management.

Project finance
We are involved in the preparation and monitoring of EU funds operational programmes and their methodologies. We prepare individual requests for support from EU funds, especially the financial and economic analysis. We also deal with complex project management on a PPP basis from the development of concession projects, organising competitions to provide loan funding, selection of public construction management and technical advice for financial institutions.
