Since its inception in 1942, K. D. Ebert & Sons has been executing various civil construction works in Sri Lanka. The First Managing Director/owner of the Company was Late Mr. K.D. Ebert. Thus well-qualified in his trade, firstly began accepting sub contracts for Concrete Light Posts from the Pre-Cast yard with some other construction company. The Sub contracting work in 1945 built up over a short span of 2 years. His talent and hard work lead him to be the first Sri Lankan to begin a firm for Casting Concrete Light Posts in 1947.
