El Fondo para el Financiamiento del Sector Agropecuario - FINAGRO

The Fund for the Financing of the Agricultural Sector - FINAGRO was created by Law 16 of 1990, almost 35 years ago. It is a development bank that promotes the Colombian rural sector, with financing instruments that stimulate investment.

It is a mixed-economy company of national order, organized as a credit institution, with a special regime, linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and supervised by the Financial Superintendence of Colombia.

FINAGRO provides resources under incentive conditions to financial institutions, so that they in turn grant credits to productive projects. Likewise, to facilitate access to financing, FINAGRO manages instruments for the development of agricultural projects. It currently has a staff of 250 employees and has assets of more than $17.07 billion.
