Marelvi was founded in 1995 with exclusively Romanian capital, a family business founded by the Mihalescul couple. The first 5 years of activity were spent in the household appliance retail sector and were marked by constant growth. In parallel, it also developed its own Service network for almost all products sold. Starting with 2000, Marelvi turned to distribution, identifying opportunities on the household appliance market that marked the subsequent development of the company. Year after year, prestigious brands entered the Marelvi portfolio and as time passed and experience became more and more elaborate, thus reaching the top of the most important household appliance distribution companies. The year 2007 brings Marelvi to the top of the ranking of players in the field, occupying the leading position.

Since April 2008, Marelvi has become the sole importer and distributor of Liebherr household refrigeration products on the Romanian market. Liebherr has now consolidated its market share in the premium refrigeration sector and has become one of the most well-known brands in Romania. Since July 1, 2016, Marelvi has also taken over Liebherr's commercial refrigeration operations in Romania. The equipment is designed to be integrated into a HACCP concept and meets the requirements of an optimal food hygiene plan. Liebherr offers a wide range of products for the hotel and catering industry, food retail, bakeries and pastry shops, research laboratories, beverage industry, frozen food and ice cream. Today, Marelvi is among the top three most important national distributors of electronic equipment and household appliances in Romania, with a turnover of approximately 249,701,000 Ron at the end of 2017.
