About

The school is named after the famous Bulgarian writer Emilian Stanev. Pseudonym of Nikola Stoyanov Stanev. He was born in Veliko Tarnovo on February 28, 1907. In 1922, his family moved to Elena; he studied at the high school there. After 1928, he studied painting for a while with Professor Tseno Todorov, then studied finance and credit. From 1932 to 1944, he worked as a clerk in the Sofia Municipality, and then was the manager of a hunting farm in the Lovech region. In the second half of the forties, Emilian Stanev devoted himself entirely to creative work. For some time, he headed the "Fiction" department of the newspaper "Literary Front" (1950-1955), was elected a deputy in the National Assembly. In 1974, he was elected an academician.

Since its establishment, the school has become a base center of the University of Veliko Tarnovo and a school for training future teachers. The school library has a variety of fiction, scientific literature and printed publications. 7 well-equipped computer labs with internet access have been built.

The most important criterion for the quality of education in a school is the realization of its graduates.
