About

The task of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan includes:

  • development and implementation of state policy on the implementation of management in the field of study, reproduction, use and protection of mineral resources, aimed at meeting the needs of the state economy in mineral resources, their rational use;
  • planned and comprehensive geological study of the subsoil for the reproduction of the mineral resource base, ensuring timely growth of mineral reserves;
  • maintaining a unified system of a geological information fund, carrying out state registration of licenses, permits and contracts for all types of subsoil use issued by the competent authorities in the prescribed manner at the State Fund for Geological Information on the Subsoil of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  •  state registration of subsoil plots used for mining, and underground structures not related to mining;
  • coordination and provision of advisory assistance in the activities of other central executive authorities on the geological study of the subsoil, reproduction and use of mineral resources;
  • comprehensive assessment and forecasting of engineering-geological, hydrogeological state of the environment and the use of natural resources, providing in the prescribed manner the central executive authorities, local authorities, organizations and the public with relevant information;
  • submission to the approval of the State Commission on mineral reserves of well-explored deposits;
  • issuing to organizations and enterprises conclusions about the presence or absence of minerals in the depths under the areas planned for construction, as well as conclusions about the engineering and geological features of the territories, geological conclusions about the possibility and feasibility of mining deposits.
