UPEL: The Union for the Protection of Juveniles in Lebanon which was founded in 1936, under decree no 29/E.B., is a social non-governmental organization and a public utility that plays an important role in helping juveniles who are mistreated physically and morally, and have difficulties with the law and justice. The Lebanese State entrusted this mission to Upel, according to a Law including:
● The safeguard and protection of unfortunate Childhood, and all social and educational services relating to the courts of minors: prevention, re-education, and rehabilitation of teenagers in conflict with Law and Justice: Law-Decree dated September 1983 completed by the Law 182 of 22 December 1992.
● The right of every child to live in a decent environment where he can enjoy the right of survival, health, education, a caring family environment, protection from abuse, self-development, etc.
