Based on Ion-X patented ElectroHydroDynamics (EHD) technology, our thrusters deliver the most efficient propulsion available for small satellites, with unmatched thrust and ISP.

In close collaboration with the teams of C2N, (the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies CNRS/University of Paris-Saclay), the world specialist in ion sources for nanoelectronics, Professor Jacques Giérak with 30+ patents filed and 35+ years of research conducted at CNRS, has partnered with the venture builder Technofounders (TF) to propose an industrial and at-scale model for a new kind of space electric propulsion.

Since its creation mid 2021, ION-X has secured €3.8 million in financing (TF Participations, Expansion, Business Angels, and with additional support from Bpifrance) to support its R&D and execute an in-orbit demonstration mission, completed by a €13 million Serie A round accelerating the development and industrialisation of its ionic thrusters. This funding round included contributions from our historic investors, Expansion and Technofounders Participation, as well as new stakeholders such as the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund and the Île-de-France Region, through its Reindustrialization Fund managed by Innovacom (Turenne Group).
