Registered in Banjul, ChildFund Gambia was formerly known as the Christian Children's Fund which then started its operations in the country in 1984. Its target area of operations is the Central River Region and the West Coast Region.
CF is a non-governmental organisation engaged in child welfare, agricultural crops production, food aid distribution, school building, healthcare, rural business enterprises, water well supplies and filtration, self-sustaining self-employment, micro-credit and loans, livestock production, artisanal fisheries development.
Between May to October, 2012, 8,000 families affected by the food crisis in over 30 communities in the Western Region (WCR) were the beneficiaries of the The Gambia Food Distribution Project initiated by CF.
