The German-Italian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italien) is a business association which acts on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy to promote the economic relations between German and Italian enterprises.
Founded in 1921, the AHK Italien brings together large German corporations, small and medium-sized Italian businesses, the subsidiaries of multinational corporations, as well as single entrepreneurs and professionals. With almost 700 members, 10 local representatives and 40 bilingual employees in Milan, it is the largest foreign Chamber of Commerce and bilateral association in Italy.
The main functions of the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italien) are:
- the official representation of the German economy in Italy
- member activities
- support for the internationalization of the enterprises
- promotion of the dual apprenticeship system based on the German model
