About
The BLKA is a modern and efficient central office of the Free State of Bavaria, offering a wide range of services. Among other things, cutting-edge technologies are used, researched, and further developed here. Likewise, as the central ICT service provider, the BLKA is operationally responsible for the system technology, operation and development of information and communication processes and projects for the entire Bavarian Police Force. In addition, the BLKA is, among other things, the authorized body for BOS digital radio, the central investigative component for internal investigations and the cybercrime competence center for the Bavarian police.
The BLKA is particularly responsible for to further develop criminalistic methods, to collect and evaluate information for the prevention and prosecution of crimes, to advise other organizational units of the police on measures for prevention and prosecution, to maintain facilities for identification, forensic and criminological investigations and research and to carry out identification and forensic investigations and to prepare expert opinions at the request of other parts of the police, the public prosecutor's office or on the order of the State Ministry of the Interior or the court.
