The Center for Development Studies (CED) is an institution of republican and democratic thought that promotes public actions with the aim of promoting a process of development with political, socio-economic and environmental sustainability. We understand that, in a developed society, the transition from less to more human conditions is constituted through a system of cooperation between rational, ethical, free, equal, and solidary beings that seek happiness, personal, community and public.

This development is sustainable if it achieves for all: economic prosperity, social inclusion, environmental protection, conservation of cultural and natural heritage, and effective citizen participation.

We believe that meeting these five objectives will also respect the needs of future generations to meet their own demands and desires.
