Chambers of Agriculture at the service of the development of agriculture and territories The Chambers of Agriculture, created in 1924, are public institutions managed by elected officials. They represent all the players in the agricultural, rural and forestry world: operators, owners, employees, professional groups, etc. The network of Chambers of Agriculture is invested with 3 missions, resulting from the Rural Code and amended by the Law on the Future of Agriculture of October 13, 2014: Contribute to the improvement of the economic, social and environmental performance of farms and their sectors Support in the territories, the entrepreneurial and responsible approach of farmers as well as the creation of companies and the development of employment Ensure a representation function with the public authorities and local authorities Present at the departmental, regional and national level, the Chambers of Agriculture are made up of 4,200 elected officials and employ more than 8,000 people.
