Institute for Social and Environmental Transition–International - ISET International

The Institute for Social and Environmental Transition–International (ISET-International) is a 501C3 non-profit, woman-run, expert-driven social/technical organization with offices in North America and Southeast Asia. For over 20 years, we have worked closely with local and international clients and partners to create and implement novel, adaptive solutions to interlinked natural resource, environmental, and social challenges, especially related to climate change, urbanization, and natural hazards.

One of the core strengths of ISET-International staff and associates is our focus on knowledge integration. We work across disciplines, spanning the social and physical sciences, across scales, from community level to national and global engagement, and we connect learning to policy in ways that create positive change. We apply this approach and range of skills to traditional international development work, to disaster risk reduction, climate change programs, and resilience work in both developing and developed contexts, and to monitoring and evaluation of the portfolios of other organizations working in this space.

In delivering project work, ISET-International draws on both a highly skilled and efficient core staff, who manage a wide network of subject and geographic experts. This allows us to flexibly deliver a wide range of project sizes and types while maintaining the agility of a small organization. The breadth and depth of ISET-International’s portfolio and the strength of the recommendations provided by prior clients attests to our success.
