STEM Paths Innovation Network (SPIN)

STEM Paths Innovation Network (SPIN) started as a single class offered to a few students at the Filipino Community Center of Seattle. The class was a great success and requests for more STEM classes quickly followed from throughout the diverse communities that make up Southeast Seattle. SPIN’s founder, Jon Madamba, recognized the need for more classes to reach more students, so in 2015, he formally incorporated SPIN.

SPIN envisions a world in which every student, every family, and every community is able to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering, math, & arts fields. In order to achieve our vision, we offer high quality STEM+Arts classes and programs to students who most lack access in the King County area. Our programming exposes students to STEM fields and careers they may never have learned about otherwise. Our curricula are designed to spark students’ curiosity and excitement about STEM subjects, instilling them with a passion for STEM that stays with them through the rest of their lives.
