About
Overview
The Nordic Center for Conflict Transformation, based in Stockholm, was established in 2018 as an independent non-profit international organization that works towards a lasting positive peace. The Nordic Center brings a model of conflict transformation and peacebuilding that focuses on three main components: documenting and mitigating climate change-induced conflict, poverty and migration (2), strengthening the active role of women in conflict resolution and prevention, and (3) promoting transparent and participatory governance through the equal access to information as a fundamental right in societies in transition.
Our approach relies on working inclusively with civil society, community leaderships and local stakeholders in informing and shaping policies collaboratively with government institutions.
Our Mission
“To generate progress towards the normalization of positive and lasting peace by working with individuals, groups, communities, civil society and governmental institutions to develop a culture of peace that is embedded in justice, full respect of human rights and non-violence as the norm and a way of life. The Nordic center offers a credible platform for information-sharing and dialogue”.
