PORTEL Logistic Technologies (Portel Servicios Telematicos)

Portel Servicios Telemáticos S.A. was founded in 1995, Spain's National Ports and Harbors Authority holding a 51% interest and Telefónica a 49% interest, for the purpose of developing and unrolling ICTs in the maritime shipping and port industry by way of activities including serving as a single window for Spain's maritime shipping and port system through working agreements with Spanish Customs Authorities, the Directorate-General of the Merchant Marine and Spain's National Ports and Harbors Authority in order to facilitate information being shared among all of the players involved in a transport operation.

Spain's Ministry for Public Works announced in early 2012 that Portel would be one of the companies which were going to be affected by the "Public Sector Rationalization Plan" and that it was to come under the Administration's disinvestment plans. This has given rise to the GTD group having taken up an interest in Portel by acquiring 49% of its shares. This Spanish company, yet doing business internationally, is specialized in mission critical software in the Space, Aeronautics and Defense fields, bringing in synergies and enriching what we have to offer, thus enabling us to undertake a strategy of international growth and expansion for the upcoming years.
